Lightning Fast Browsing Trick For Internet Explorer And Firefox

Tired of how slow Myspace is? It may not be Myspace’s fault. By default Firefox and IE are configured to only allow so many connections to take place at once. With Myspace and other sites there are many connections wanting to take place at the same time. Applying these changes to the configuration values will open up your browser and allow more connections to take place.

Works with both Mac and PC

1.Open Firefox
2. type “about:config” in the address bar.
3. Type in the filter bar: “network.http.pipelining”
4. Double click network.http.pipelining to change it to true.
5. Double click on network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
6. In the dialog box that comes up change the 4 to 10.
7. Close Firefox and reopen it. Your browsing will now be faster, especially when you have multiple tabs open at once.

Only works on a computer running Windows.

1. Click the start menu, choose run and type “regedit”.
2. Select “HKEY_CURRENT_USER”
3. Click “Software” to expand.
4. Click “Microsoft” to expand.
5. Click “Windows” to expand.
6. Click “Current Version” to expand.
7. Click “Internet Settings” to expand.
8. MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server & MaxConnectionsPerServer indicates the maximum # of connections per page.
9. Increase the value of both fields from default to a numerical (DECIMAL) value. “10″ is a good choice.
10. Close Regedit and Internet Explorer. Reopen IE and see the difference.

I recommend not setting the max connections higher then 10 on both Firefox and IE due to the fact that to many connections can cause your browser to fail and close unexpectedly.

Feel free to leave comments and let me know how this worked for you.
